An impressive £76,244 was raised at the Mistletoe Ball in December, a special event co-hosted by Guildford Philanthropy and the Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Sallie Barker MBE at G-Live attended by over 300 guests.
The majority of the funds raised were awarded to seven local charities which have enabled them to fund a range of crucial services for Guildford families: The Canterbury Care Centre, The Lighthouse, Home-Start Guildford, Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey, Guildford Town Centre Chaplaincy, ReSkilled and Guildford Action. The Mayor’s Local Support Fund was also a beneficiary.
“The Mistletoe Ball was a fantastic way to finish 2024 and mark our 10th Anniversary,” said Peter Cluff, Chair of Guildford Philanthropy. He continued: “It has been a particularly rewarding year and we’ve been delighted to have been able to make a record number of grants.”
