The Lighthouse Charity, supporting communities in Guildford, launched its Christmas Kindness Project in 2024 and £10,000 was granted by Guildford Philanthropy to help them deliver their services, following our fundraising at The Mistletoe Ball. The funding was used to help local people struggling to afford to buy Christmas presents for loved ones.
The charity reported: “Thanks to this very generous funding, The Lighthouse Charity supported over 400 children in the Guildford area – whose families would have struggled to provide gifts at Christmas – with toyshop gift vouchers and care packages. Refugees, families fleeing domestic violence, and those in financial hardship caused by various challenges have all benefited.”
One parent said, “You helped me to put a smile on my children’s faces, as I couldn’t afford presents due to the cost of food and bills. Thank you so much!”
