Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey is an organisation dedicated to enabling and empowering people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted and deafblind. They requested £5,800 from Guildford Philanthropy to provide staff training to upskill the people they support to access technology and AI support to make their lives easier.
The team told us: “Thanks to Guildford Philanthropy, we’ve been able to support Guildford residents through our Technology and AI projects. One exciting example is the Meta Ray-Ban glasses, which we’ve been showcasing as a valuable tool for people who are blind or visually impaired. These smart glasses can enhance independence and everyday living. It’s been inspiring to see strong interest in how AI can support accessibility, and we’re committed to continuing to raise awareness and share new innovations that make a difference to the people we support.”
