Guildford is an affluent borough, but there are areas of less advantage where people need some help to get back on their feet.
We see supporting the establishment and development of social enterprise as a way of helping communities to address the challenges facing them. Guildford Philanthropy is an important strand of this approach. It provides funding to help social entrepreneurs get their ventures off the ground. Projects supported by Guildford Philanthropy have provided a second chance for young people who may have missed out on education and helped those with physical disabilities or mental health problems into employment.
We are proud to have been part of building Guildford Philanthropy as a movement of successful local businesses and individuals to support our less advantaged residents through difficult periods of their lives. This includes our continued commitment to provide match-funding for all individual and corporate donations to this excellent cause.
