With the nights closing in and the leaves falling fast, 2022 is drawing to a close. It has been another challenging year. Following the pandemic; global tensions, fuel shortages and the rising cost of living have led to an unabated rise in inequality across our community and as a consequence an alarming increase in both absolute and relative poverty.
• GASP Motor Project We have contributed the costs of supporting young people to build skills, confidence and resilience for a brigher future.
• Matrix Trust We have funded a course that will offer young people the opportunity and support to get into work.
• YMCA Our funding has helped produce content for a digital platform for delivering skills and resources for young people.
• Halow Project We have supported the costs of a volunteer co-ordinator to help young people with learning difficulties.
• Home Start Our funding has gone towards costs for recruiting volunteers that help the charity support disadvantaged families with children under six years of age.
• Men in Sheds Our funding and pro bono support has helped convert two sheds at Merrist Wood Campus for use by senior men suffering from loneliness.
• Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership We have funded a project to support those experiencing disadvantage with learning and employment skills.
