We recently held a reception to thank our Corporate Ambassadors for their annual donations and continued support at the Guildhall.
Special guests included the HM Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey Michael More-Molyneux, the Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Marsha Moseley, the High Steward, Leader of the Council, Cllr Joss Bigmore, Deputy Leader of the Council, Cllr Julia McShane, the new, and first ever, joint Chief Executive of Guildford and Waverley Councils, Tom Horwood, MP Angela Richardson and the President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Surrey, Max Lu.
Chairman of Guildford Philanthropy, Peter Cluff said:
“I am so grateful to all of our Corporate Ambassadors. Their generous annual donations go towards fantastic projects that really make a difference to local people who need support in Guildford. In the last six weeks alone, we have provided funding to the GASP Motor Project, Home-Start Guildford, The Halow Project, the Matrix Trust and to Activate Guildford, supporting their Men in Sheds initiative on their Merrist Wood campus.”
“Many of our Ambassadors have also provided pro bono help, IT support, donated laptops, and offered staff volunteer days. As we recover from the pandemic and life gradually returns back to normal, we hope to work with both our Ambassadors and our grantees to ensure there are more opportunities.”
Peter Cluff added: “There are many benefits of becoming a Corporate Ambassador. These include networking, raising your profile locally and enhancing your Corporate Social Responsibility Programme. By signing up you’ll also play your part in helping disadvantaged local people who may have few qualifications or experience, by offering training opportunities, work experience, jobs and other benefits to help build their self-confidence and self-esteem.”
