Guildford Philanthropy is delighted to announce that Payen a technology company based on the Surrey Research Park and a Corporate Ambassador of the charity has both renewed its ambassador status for another year and pledged support for the work Guildford Philanthropy is undertaking with local charity Foodwise TLC, providing meals to vulnerable local people during the Covid19 crisis.
Peter Cluff, Chairman of Guildford Philanthropy commented “Payen has generously donated £10k to help ensure that the initiative, which is currently providing nearly 3,000 hot meals a week, can remain operational through to the end of the summer holidays”.
Chief Executive, Richard Smith, commented:
“ Having built our business on the research park over the last 10 years, Payen are happy to support Guildford Philanthropy in the great work they are doing.
We feel that supporting a local initiative and making it personal to each employee is important. We wanted to be able to contribute a free meal for every employee every day on an ongoing basis.
We thought if a small company like ours with only 25 employees could donate 750 meals a month and build it into our social responsibility budget during lockdown it would still give us a Guildford focus even if we were working remotely.
If more local companies support the initiative in a similar way, then we can really do something together to help alleviate poverty in the local area.”
